Wesley Snipes Portraying Villainous Character in Coming 2 America

Jon Aubrey Divens is an experienced film and TV producer who has been affiliated with Rocket Media, Inc., since 2010. Before this, Jon A. Divens produced the first two films in the Blade trilogy, which stars Wesley Snipes as the titular vampire slayer.

Since starring as Blade, Snipes has had roles in films including Brooklyn’s Finest, The Expendables 3, and Dolemite Is My Name. His most recent role is as General Izzi in Coming 2 America, the long-awaited sequel of Coming to America starring Eddie Murphy and Arsenio Hall. The original film was released in June 1988. In addition to Snipes, the sequel features Leslie Jones, Tracy Morgan, and Bella Murphy.

Snipes’ General Izzi character is the older brother of the once-intended bride of King Akeem, played by Murphy. As the antagonist of the film, he is seeking to overthrow Akeem and take control of Zamunda. Speaking to Digital Spy, Snipes however stated his character is simply misunderstood, noting “he doesn’t want to own everything, he just wants to nationalize it.” The sequel was slated to be released on Amazon Prime Video on March 5.
